Shake It Off with Loving Kindness

Everyone moves through phases in life where a pause is needed, a sacred time to mend, to heal, or to gently work through dis-ease, whether mental, physical, or emotional. These moments are not setbacks, but invitations to realign with our true rhythm and return to our natural state of balance.

It’s much like servicing a car, it cannot run indefinitely without care and attention. Likewise, our bodies, minds, and emotional landscapes require tending. They speak to us in whispers and sensations, asking us to listen, to slow down, and to honour the process of restoration.


If healing were as simple as ‘shaking it off’, there would be no depth of awareness, no opportunity to meet ourselves more fully. Dis-ease, in its many forms, offers a chance to awaken, to take responsibility for our healing and to come face to face with the parts of us that long to be seen, understood, and loved.


We hold a tremendous capacity to heal, especially when we begin to understand the energetics of dis-ease. When we view discomfort not as an enemy, but as a messenger, we move through the healing process with greater ease and clarity. Eventually, the heaviness lifts, and a sense of lightness returns, not because we ignored the pain, but because we took aligned action to restore harmony.


It’s easy to become entangled in the narrative of dis-ease, to identify with it, speak of it, and reinforce it through our words and thoughts. Yet every story carries vibration, and that vibration either opens or blocks the flow of healing energy. When we find ourselves absorbed by the dis-ease rather than the wellness, it’s time to ‘rev up the engine’ and choose a more enlightened path.


The key is to shift our focus, to place attention on wellness, on the steps that nourish and uplift, rather than sinking into the weight of what is wrong. Healing thrives in the presence of positive energetic flow.


Some healing journeys are deeply rooted, stretching back to childhood, ancestral memory, or even past lives. The pain in your knee, neck, or back may be the surface expression of something far older. When you understand the energetic connections, you gain an eagle’s eye view of the whole. And sometimes, healing one aspect brings resolution to many. That is the beauty of energetic healing, it works holistically, not in fragments.


Our bodies are extraordinary vessels of wisdom, inner and outer technologies that communicate with us constantly. When we learn the language of the body, we begin to interpret its messages with reverence. It is the sacred home of our soul, our great light within, and it deserves our deepest respect.


Your body is your ally. It wants the best for you. In times of discomfort, it offers guidance, showing you, which foods are medicine, and which are poison. When you tune into this communication, you begin to know instinctively what serves your highest good.


Of course, being human means we don’t always listen. We may continue to consume what we know isn’t aligned with wellness. Yet deep down, we understand that food, thought, and feeling all contribute to either dis-ease or vitality. Often, it takes a healing crisis to finally hear what the body has been whispering all along.


Our thoughts and emotions, sorrow, grief, fear, anger, shape the terrain of our healing. They influence whether the journey is smooth or challenging. But always, the invitation is to return to flow, to allow wellness to rise.


Sometimes it feels as though we’re being tested. We expect life to run smoothly, and when it doesn’t, the ripple effects can be far-reaching. The inner critic may grow louder, creating further disruption. This spiral becomes another hurdle, delaying the return to balance. Yet every now and then, the Universe gently intervenes, asking us to pause, to shift our focus, to breathe. Some call it a ‘God Slap,’ a divine nudge to stop and ask: What is really going on here?


Patience becomes a sacred virtue in these moments. Healing is not a race. It is a journey of listening, of surrender, of loving attention.


In truth, we are pure and perfect divine light. In our essence, there is no need for healing. But while in physical form, we will encounter pain, discomfort, and dis-ease. When this happens, how will you respond?


Begin with loving kindness. It is always a good place to start.
