How fundamental do you consider your own mental health and wellbeing to be?

Many of us rarely pause to reflect on our wellness, on how deeply it affects our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual state, until we find ourselves at the lowest of lows. Yet with free will and choice always available to us, we are gently encouraged to act before reaching that point. And even if we do arrive there, know this: you can always begin again. From any place, at any time, healing and growth are possible.

A person walks through a lush field in morning mist, backlit by the rising sun. Hills are in the background, creating a serene atmosphere.

As the saying goes: “If there is no struggle, there is no progress.”

Wellness is multifaceted. It encompasses how we cope with life’s stresses, how we respond to challenges, and how we nurture our emotional and mental landscape. It invites us to ask:

How satisfied am I with my life?

Some areas may be flowing well, others may feel stuck. But overall, are you at peace? Are you thriving? Or is something quietly calling for attention?

When our mental health is impacted, whether by our own choices or external circumstances, it’s a signal to pause and listen. Ignoring it only adds layers that may take longer to unravel. Awareness is the first step toward healing.

Even the changing seasons can affect our mental and emotional state. As autumn fades and winter draws near, the days shorten, the light dims, and we may become less active and social. Our immune systems weaken, and our diets often shift toward heavier foods that may not serve us. These subtle shifts can influence our mood, energy, and overall wellbeing.

But when we know this, we can prepare. We can move through these transitions with consciousness, tuning into how we feel and how we think. It’s not about controlling every outcome, it’s about being wise, being kind, and being present.

True wisdom lies in tending to our wellbeing, mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Caring for ourselves is not selfish; it is essential. Only when we are nourished can we truly nourish others.

By loving yourself, you can truly love someone else.

In times past, self-care was often misunderstood. Putting others first was seen as noble, even when it depleted us. But there is a forgotten balance in this mindset. When we honour our own

wellbeing, we become fit, in heart, mind, and body, to serve others with clarity and compassion. This begins with regular check-ins, gentle pauses, and honest reflection.

The pressures of modern life, and the global shifts we are witnessing, make it more important than ever to strengthen our inner foundation. When we feel empowered and aligned, we are better equipped to navigate life’s complexities and offer support to others.

Energetically, when we are well, we radiate wellness. We become a tonic to those around us. Our presence uplifts, our words soothe, and our energy inspires, effortlessly.

Touching base with yourself needn’t take long. Your body will tell you what it needs, more rest, better nourishment, movement, stillness. Your mind will reveal its state, whether it’s cluttered with chatter or resting in calm clarity.

We are not taught to do this. Instead, we often seek outside ourselves, running in circles until exhaustion forces us to stop. Then, we climb back onto the wheel, searching again, never quite satisfied. This cycle can lead to dis-ease, physically, mentally, emotionally. But this is not life. And it is certainly not wellness.

The only journey is the journey within.

Now is the time to take responsibility, for your wellness, your happiness, your life. Amidst the dismay, disharmony, and discord playing out across the world, there is an invitation. A sacred opportunity to strengthen your mental health and wellbeing.

As you do, your frequency shifts. You begin to vibrate wellness outward, touching others, uplifting the collective, and contributing to a world aligned with harmony, grace, peace, and love.

So, why not pause right now… Breathe. Check in. Choose to strengthen your mental health and wellbeing. And begin to see the world through these eyes.
